This smoothie is one of my biggest cravings on hot, humid days! The perfect combination of chocolate, espresso, banana and warming spices like ginger and cinnamon make for a refreshing and energizing smoothie! This is a great option for folks who tend to skip breakfast and just have coffee. Because of the added fat, fibre and protein paired with the caffeine, you get a more even and consistent burst of energy that will keep you buzzing all morning!

Substitutions: Feel free to use whatever milk or milk alternative you prefer. For a richer, full fat drink substitute almond milk for 1 cup of coconut milk. Feel free to boost the protein of this drink by adding a scoop of collagen or your favourite protein powder. If you do not have espresso, use 1/4 cup strong coffee or 1 Tbsp espresso powder. To make this caffeine-free substitute the espresso with 2 Tbsp Dandy Blend (coffee alternative) powder.
