Don’t be afraid to make calamari at home. It’s actually super simple and takes less than 10 minutes to grill! Make it as an appetizer or into a salad over a bed of greens. Major Mediterranean vibes with these simple flavours and you’re getting some nutrients in too (good source of protein).

Instructions

1

Lightly score each calamari tube, horizontally, each cut about 1 ½ inches apart.

2

In a mixing bowl, add the calamari, 1/3 cup of olive oil, ½ tsp sea salt, ½ tsp black pepper and paprika. Mix to combine. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.

3

In a small bowl, combine ¼ cup olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, ¼ tsp of sea salt, ¼ tsp black pepper and whisk. When the calamari is ready, pour it on top.

4

Preheat your grill to about 450 degrees F. Grill each calamari tube for 3-4 minutes per side, depending on the size.

5

Serve as an appetizer or over some greens to make it a meal.

6

Note: You can purchase calamari tubes that are already cleaned for you. It’s also important to give them a little rinse and have a look at them to see if anything was missed.
