Chai Poached Pears

These pears are the perfect warm cozy breakfast or dessert made with a few simple ingredients.I love to make these in the fall and winter to top oatmeal and ice cream.

Bosc or D'anjou Pears

2-3bags

Chai Tea

1/4cup

Raw Honey

4cups

Water

11/2-inch piece

Fresh Ginger

Cinnamon Stick

Cardamom Pods

Star Anise

1/4tsp

Black Peppercorns

Instructions

In a small pot on medium heat, add your water. Once the water is simmering, add your chai tea and steep for 5-10 minutes, then remove the bags.

Add your honey to the pot and stir until it is fully incorporated, then add your pears and turn heat to low. Add the ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, star anise and peppercorns. Simmer until the pears are fork tender.

Remove the pears from the heat and serve warm. Store any leftovers in the poaching liquid for up to 7 days.
