This hot apple cider will warm you up all winter long, plus your house will smell amazing as you make it. It’s also packed with tons of seasonal warming spices, apples and oranges and is sweetened only with a little maple syrup.
Instructions
1
In a large pot, combine all ingredients, except for the maple syrup. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
2
Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, covered, for 2 hours.
3
Using a potato masher or wooden spoon, mash the apples and orange and cover again, simmer for one hour more.
4
Remove from the heat and strain through a cheesecloth lined mesh strainer, or nut milk bag, pressing on the solids to squeeze out all the juices. Discard any solids.
5
Serve and enjoy!
6
Note: Store leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
7
Substitutions: No sugar: leave out the maple syrup, or sweeten with your choice of sweetener.
